Invest in new Cyclos modules

Nam liber tempor cum soluta nobis eleifend option congue nihil imperdiet doming id quod mazim placerat facer possim assum. Typi non habent claritatem insitam; est usus legentis in iis qui facit eorum claritatem. Investigationes demonstraverunt lectores legere me lius quod ii legunt saepius.

Enhanced loan module, credit card and micro finance administration

The current version of Cyclos supports various loan types and credit/debit cards. The objective is to extend this module with better administration of credit payments, billing, insolvency, reporting, fraud controls, location verification, and micro finance administration.

Voucher module

The voucher module will have the option to generate unique voucher codes. A voucher code can be be printed or send by e-mail, SMS etc. Voucher codes can be used for prepaid, discount/coupon, and cash-back payments. Depending on the project implementation a voucher code can be redeemed for digital or physical cash, or used for online purchases. The voucher code can be generated for specific amounts or a percentage of a payment amount (discount), and can have an expiry date. An API for external use from third party software will be available.

Smartphone / tablet application

The mobile app for Cyclos that is currently available (for Android, iPhone/iPad, Blackberry) supports payments, account and transaction information and the managing of contact lists. We are planning to add the mobile app with e-commerce functions, such as localization features, and placing and searching for advertisements.

IVR Channel

Currently we are also working on an IVR (Interactive Voice Response) module that will allow operations similar to the SMS operations. IVR operations can be initiated by calling from a mobile phone or landline to an automatic phone central (PBX). When the PBX answers the client can choose an operation from an audio menu by typing on the telephone keypad or by speech recognition. Information about the IVR module can be found here.

USSD Channel

USSD is a protocol that can be used by GSM cellular telephones to communicate with service providers. It allows menu based operations for high and low end mobile phones. A common USSD service is to query the available balance for prepaid phones. USSD operations are typically initiated by typing a short code between hashes, for example#1234#, which will return a result text directly, and possibly display a menu with more options. About 99% of the mobile phones world wide support USSD. Apart from this it does not need any device configuration nor device application download (this is also true for SMS and IVR). This makes USSD a good candidate for ‘low level’ mobile services. Information about the the USSD module can be found here.

Dynamic steering mechanisms

The Cyclos team is working on a tool that can trace monetary flows using the 'age' of money, and keeping track of how many times it has circulated. This information is available per account per person and it allows applying credit and conversion fees in a far more fair and transparent way than conventional banking services do. It allows to reduce the interests costs for small companies drastically and it can also help governments to manage their expenditures in such a way that it guarantees that 'money' circulates long enough internally until the money becomes externally available. The internal circulation will result in an increase of local purchasing power local and improved multiplier.

POS application

Currently Cyclos has a WebPOS that can be used to receive consumer payments and handle cash-in / cash-out payments. Although the WebPOS is a very easy to use (no local installation required) it has some drawbacks. A PC or Internet device with browser is needed, and it is rather complex to connect to local hardware such as printers and card readers. The objective is to build a generic PCI compliant POS application that can be used for devices such as card readers. The design will offer a secure, telco/bank independent and easy to implement solution. The client (POS) side will run as a small application with functions similar to the existing WebPOS. We are still investigating on the hardware (POS devices). Any help with this will be much appreciated. See the post looking for programmable POS devices.

Savings account

A savings account will allow users to set a portion of their money away under certain conditions and rules like fees, remunerations (earning interest), maximum and minimum amounts, and over pre-defined periods. In case of a demurrage system users could avoid paying usage fees by placing their money in a savings account. As the money in the savings account may not be callable immediately, in specific jurisdictions it will not incur a reserve requirement. This means it could free up cash from the monetary backing that can now be lent without interest.

Banking interface

Cyclos4 has a complete API layer that can be used for integration with other software products. However, this does involve developing and testing. The objective is to develop built-in support for common payment interfaces and protocols such as SWIFT, PayPal and credit card processing frameworks like JPOS.

New authentication methods

In the Cyclos 4 PRO version we plan to add support for new authentication methods such as biometric and location based authentication, and industry standards such as NFC.
