Liability Waiver for WHETS and World Heritage Catalysis.
The function of the World Heritage Exchange Trading System (WHETS) is to facilitate the exchange of services within its global community and local networks. It is my responsibility to use the same caution I would in other circumstances to get to know a person, make reference checks and use my instincts before engaging with another WHETS participant – especially for babysitting, eldercare, and driving.
Since any agreements shall be made by and between parties involved in this transaction, World Heritage Catalysis, local administrator organisations and Cyclos (collectively known as "The Sponsors") will not be held responsible and will not assume any liability for claims, damages, or any other consequences which may arise from this arrangement.
I understand that the Sponsors shall have neither liability nor responsibility to any person or entity with respect to loss, damage or injury caused or alleged to be caused directly or indirectly by information contained in the WHETS program. I pledge not to disclose information which may be contained in the WHETS to outside parties.
I understand that I will receive messages from other members of the WHETS community. Notification of such messages will be sent to the email address I have recorded in the program. I also understand that I will receive periodic email newsletters, broadcasts and alerts.
I understand that all time entered into WHETS is essentially an effort at building a community and neighbourhood support network, and has absolutely no correlation with any national currency, with all time being valued equally.
I understand that there is no guarantee that I will find services I wish to engage in exchange for the hours that I have accrued in my WHETS account. I give my hours to the WHETS Community Fund without any expectation of receiving particular services in return.
I agree to abide by basic community values of proper and courteous behaviour. I pledge to proceed with good intent towards being of service to others in my community and to treat others in WHETS with respect and kindness. Specifically I will uphold the core values of Time Banking:
- Assets: Everyone has something to offer;
- Redefining Work: Building home, family and community is valued work;
- Reciprocity: Encouraging givers to receive – and receivers to give – builds trust and resiliency and sharing;
- Community: We are stronger together;
- Respect: Respect is the root of equality.
By filling out my profile and assuming WHETS membership I agree to the above terms, and hereby agree the duty, responsibility and liability that is inherent with any and all WHETS exchanges, and that it shall remain as it would be if the parties were not part of WHETS.
I agree to leave intact the normal remedies and cause of action available to these parties in the event of any unforeseen circumstance.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless all parties who facilitate or participate in WHETS exchanges.
I agree to abide by the terms of the WHETS Handbook.
